Re: Leather Vest

I'm not a vest wearer but I would wear one for the CLA animals as I shoot a crescent butt stock 30-30.

Re: Silhouette stock for hunter rifle.

nemo, most air rifles are not close in dimension to a Rem 700. It's kind of an apples and oranges thing. I can't think of two rifles in my collection that are similar in their feel except my Ruger 77/22 and my Ruger M77. Are you starting from scratch or is this a modification of a gun you already ha...

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

Have you tried lapping it with the JP bore paste? The barrels are not going to get any worse... There are some lapping pastes that are overly aggressive and I would stay away from those but a mild lapping paste may bring back the barrels. I've never tried the Tubb break in bullets but that may be an...

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

I tried the shooters choice and the smell alone made me switch. Hoppes it ain't. Butches isn't so pleasant either but its bearable.

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

I use Butches Bore Shine. I've left it in a barrel for a week without etching the barrel. The brand Bore Tech claims you can leave it in forever without etching and my gun Smith swears by it.

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

That will do it. I had a black powder rifle (rifled bore) that I forgot to clean. The barrel was junk but I was able to bring it back somewhat by lapping the bore. JP bore paste wouldn't doing it so I went with Clover paste thats used for lapping valves. It's very aggressive and would need to be lap...

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

CamP don't know how you burned out a barrel on a 30-30. I've been shooting mine longer than that and it still looks new even under a bore scope. It even has a funny spot in the, bore where the barrel transitions from round to octagonal and it shoots better than I do. You may want to just try recrowni...

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

The only issue I have with mine is the short barrel. I do wish we could rebarrel our guns but that would start an equipment race which is exactly why the rule is in place. 32-20 can be super accurate if you take lots of time finding your guns best load but it rarely is "THE" load for someone else's ...

Re: Future of the Nationals?

The reason the Whittington Center has held the nationals is range size. The NRA put a minimum of how many shooters can be put on the line at one time. The only two clubs that I'm aware of that are able to meet that minimum is Raton and Ridgway. Ridgway is basically independently run by the club supp...

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

Thanks Dennis but I've had a good supply of jacketed for my 32-20. I use a .357 marlin for actual competition. The 32-20 is my fun gun.

Re: 32 H&R from 32-20 lever rifle?

Dennis I've been using Unique in my 32-20 and its worked well with every type of bullet I've tried. They only bullets I stopped shooting is cast. No matter how hard it would lead up the barrel. I haven't found anyone who makes a gas checked .32 cal. bullet but that would fix that. Good luck.

BrentD you seem like the type of person who just makes up stupid arguments for the sole purpose to have something to be pissed about.
