SMALLBORE July 31, Aug 1 & 2.        HIGH-POWER AUG 4, 5, & 6

The 2005 CANADIAN RIFLE SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held at the Heffley Creek Gun Club Range in Kamloops,  B.C.  There is ample, beautiful, free space on the range site for tenting, and primitive R.V.s (no plug ins). We are proud to boast that this may be the most beautiful range setting in Canada. We invite you and your family to join us for a fun-filled week of shooting metallic silhouette targets.

RANGE DIRECTIONS: Take Hwy 5 North from Kamloops for 20 minutes and then take the OLD HWY 5 Road to Sun Peaks turn right at the Heffley Creek Store, proceed east on the paved road for 4 km. then turn left on gravel road marked with a silhouette ram and follow for approx. 2 km to where the beautiful Heffley Creek range welcomes you.

RULES

Current NRA Metallic Silhouette Rifle Rules will apply, as adopted by the SRAC

CLASSIFICATION

The SRAC Metallic Silhouette Rifle Classification Score Booklets will be used. SRAC  & NRA Silhouette Classification booklets will be honoured. All unclassified competitors will compete in the highest available class. Classification booklets must be presented when registering at the Range.

COMPETITION - ELIGIBILITY

Open to all Canadian residents and non-residents who are members of their respective national shooting governing bodies. Competitors must furnish copies of their membership cards when submitting entry.

SPECIAL SQUADING REQUESTS.

Requests for special squadding of competitors sharing equipment or coaching will be accommodated in-so-far as possible on a first come, first serve basis, provided such requests are made IN WRITING, and entries for ALL competitors involved are included with the request. Unfortunately it will not be possible to consider special squadding requests for late entries.

RECLASSIFICATION DURING A CHAMPIONSHIP

In accordance with rule 19.17.1, if a competitor fires a score which is two or three classes above his or her current class in any of the fire matches comprising the Championships, he or she will be reclassified to one class below the class in which that high score falls for that fired match, any subsequent fired matches, and for the Championship aggregate. The competitor will retain any award received in his or her previous lower classification from any fired matches concluded prior to the match in which the competitor’s score qualifies him or her for upward reclassification.

CERTIFICATION OF FIREARMS.

Rifles must be weighed and certified for configuration before the Championships and must conform to the Silhouette and Hunting rifle specifications as set out in Rule 31, 3.1.1, 3.2 and 3.21 of the NRA rule book. Rifle certification times are: July 30, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.; July 31, 7 - 8 a.m.. High-Power Aug 3, 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. & Aug. 4 - 7 -8 a.m.. Rifles may be inspected at random by Match Officials.

SMALLBORE  MATCH SCHEDULE

July 30,  practice day. Competitors to set their own targets and police the range. Stats office will be in operation for certification of rifles and picking up of registration kits. Watch bulletin boards for official notices.

July 30 - 8:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies followed immediately by Match 1 40 shots, Silhouette Rifle, and Match 1 Hunting Rifle 40 shots. The presentation of match awards for the day will follow any shoot-offs. Competitors will score for the shooter immediately following them on the line. The last relay will score for the first relay.

Aug. 1 8:00 a.m. Match 2, 40 shots each, Silhouette Rifle &  Hunting Rifle. The presentation of match awards for the day will follow any shoot-offs.

Aug 2, 8:00 a.m. Match  3, 40 shots each, Silhouette & Hunting Rifle, The presentation of match awards for the day will follow any shoot-offs plus the Smallbore National awards and closing ceremonies.

HIGH-POWER MATCH SCHEDULE

Aug 3 Practice day. No shooting prior to 8:00 am.  Competitors will be responsible to set their own targets and the policing of the range.

Aug 4- 08:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies followed immediately by Match 1 40 shots, Silhouette Rifle, and Match 1 Hunting Rifle 40 shots., The presentation of match awards for the day will follow any shoot-offs. Competitors will score for the shooter immediately following them on the line. The last relay will score for the first relay

Aug 5- 8:00 a.m. Match 2, 40 shots each, Silhouette & Hunting Rifle. The presentation of match awards for the day will follow any shoot-offs.

Aug 6- 8 :00 a.m. Match 3, 40 shots each, Silhouette & Hunting Rifle, The presentation of match awards for the day will follow any shoot-offs plus the High-Power  National awards and closing ceremonies.

SMALLBORE AND HI-POWER AWARDS SCHEDULE

Under three shooters per class, shooters will be moved up to the next higher class, or compete for Match Winner Award (rule 19.8)

PIN AWARDS

Smallbore: 10 in-a-row pins will be awarded to all classes, 5 in-a-row pins only to "B", "A", and "AA" Classes

High-Power: 5 and 10 in-a-row pins will be awarded to all classes

SAFETY

All rules for safety will be strictly enforced. Failure to conform will be a basis for disqualification.

1. Rifle actions will be open at all times except on the firing line after the command "READY" is given. At the command "CEASE FIRE" all firearm actions will be opened IMMEDIATELY, unloaded and placed on stands.

2. "Dry firing" or aiming firearms behind the firing line is prohibited. Firing line commands must be observed by the users of the designated dry firing area.

3. When not on the firing line firearms will be placed on racks, in cases or other safe places.

4. A shot fired before the "READY" will result in disqualification for the day’s match.

5. The Match Director or Range Officer has the authority to ban any competitor, firearm or ammunition at any time for reasons of safety.

6. Possession or consumption of any alcoholic beverage, narcotic or controlled substance which can impair the normal mental of physical functions of the body, either on the range or in the spectator or public areas immediately adjacent to the range while the range is in use is prohibited. Disorderly conduct or intoxication is not permitted on the range or any contiguous range property. Violators of this regulation will be subject to immediate disqualification from these Championships with no return of entry fees.

Entries close when the limit of 80 Smallbore and 48  High-power entries is reached.

 Advance registration is encouraged as tournament entries are limited. Please ensure that you have your classification booklet and membership card from the Silhouette governing body for your country. SRAC. memberships will be available for those who require one.

Refunds: If after registering you find you are unable to attend, a full refund will be made if the Stats Officer is notified no later than July 24th, 2005. If notification is received after that date a $5.00 handling charge will be retained with the balance of the entry fee refunded.
